TheMuseumsLab 2025 is in Addis
TheMuseumsLab is a funding program organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. It is financed by the German Federal Government Commission for Culture and Media and the German Federal Foreign Office.
The program offers museum professionals form African and European countries a platform for collaborative learning, perspective exchange and building professional networks. It promotes dialogue on how museums confront their past, meet the present and contribute to an equitable future.
The program is comprised of online and onsite seminar modules lead by African and European academics. There is also a one-week residency program at a renowned African or European partner institution where participants engage in the day-to-day operations of partner museums and get a glimpse of an international context.
The call for application is published yearly around mid of October. African and European Museum professionals with a two-years of relevant professional experience in the museum, heritage, or art sector are eligible to apply. The funding will cover all costs related to the participation on the program including, flight and visa expenses.
